Chair Building Classes
Learn the Fine Art of Chair Building by Building Your Own Chair
Traditional Woodworking Tutorials ~  Hands on Instruction

I work with students as a personal tutor, my classes offer hands on instruction combining essentials of 18th and 19th century techniques used to build Windsor Chairs. Students work with traditional tools, will learn to split, shave, carve, drill, turn, then assemble a classic and comfortable chair that should last a lifetime.

Classes take place on a revolving schedule, beginning on the first and third Monday of the month and last 6-8 days depending on the type of chair you want to build. Individuals that have experience turning have the choice of building a chair with baluster (a.k.a. vase and ring) turnings as opposed to the simpler bamboo turnings.
I am currently scheduling for 2015, please call to schedule.

Shop locations:
Winter 2014/2105 Cape May New Jersey
Spring/Summer/Fall 2015 East Montpelier Vermont.

To schedule: 802-522-2929

All students leave with a finished chair, all parts and tools included.

Thank you
William B. Morrison
